Easter Week at a Polish Market

I'm not Polish, I just work in a neighborhood that was traditionally very Polish for years and years. This neighborhood is mostly black now but there are still some older solidarity-banner waiving stubborn natives floating around the block. So, for obvious reasons, the polish suburbians flood the gates here at the old market the week before Easter buying their butter lambs and chocolates and pierogi. There are thousands of them! I never realized how many people in this city are either polish or catholic. It's amazing. This market is empty 360 days a year until the week before Easter and then it is completely packed. But that doesn't mean I'm getting any extra business -- just the oppostie in fact. The holidays do this to us here at the payment center. Everyone spends their money on festive decorations and food and food and more food. So NEXT WEEK will be Hell for me.... I'm still on crutches, I'm moving into my new apartment Monday (if they've finished the repainting), and Everyone will be playing catch-up on their bills. And to top it all of, my boss is going to be out of town the ENTIRE month of April. Well at least I didn't have to take any time off from work because of my injury. I'll still be able to pay my rent and buy my bed and so on. I'm at work right now -- leg on a chair, crutches at armslength.
But on a lighter note, I recently had coffee with a very nice boy. We had a nice chat and released some bitterness about our respective ex's. It was enjoyable. But I'm not really looking for a boyfriend and neither is he. I just need a romp in the hay as soon as I move into my new apartment!
